Easy to install
Fiat 500 key covers can be a great option to make your keys more modern. You can choose from a range of styles and colors to find the one that is most appropriate to your personal preferences. The best part is that they are easy to install, which means you can install them in just ten minutes. You'll need an electric screwdriver and a bit of patience. The first step is taking off the original cover. This must be removed before the new cover can be fitted.
After you have removed the cover after removing the old cover, you can employ a flathead to remove the four major attachment clips from the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are highlighted in red on the photo below. Also note the locating tab slots, which are yellow, that need to be disconnected as well.
Replace the battery with a #CR2032 coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should be facing the fob's opening, and the "side that is "-" side should face the buttons made of rubber.
Reattach the passenger side mirror cover by aligning the locating tabs. Once you have completed this, put the fob for the driver side back in your car and test it by pressing the button on the front of the car key. If everything is working as it should, the parking lights should be activated and the doors will automatically shut.
Easy to remove

You can easily accomplish this by pressing the "Fiat" red button on the front of your key fob. After pressing the button the lever will be released that allows you slide out the ignition switch made of steel (1). After you remove the metal keys there is a small silver metal switch that features images of a padlock both unlocked and locked next to it. This is the battery switch on the key fob. It is easy to change the battery by turning the switch a quarter turn with an inexpensive screwdriver that is flat.
The key fob contains a microchip which communicates with the Body Control Module. When you insert your Fiat key, it presses a button inside the ignition switch that is used to remind you of the "key-inignition". The BCM will then be in a position to read the transponder in the key fob, and verify that it's a valid.
You can also add a sport design twin pack to your key covers to give it a unique and funky look. These covers snap on over your original cover and are available in Cream and silver. The key cover is only functional by removing the black cover from the key fob.
